About Us

Jimmy Fund

Working toward a world without cancer

In 2010, the Bishop Feehan Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team joined the efforts of 2009 Feehan Graduate Adam Semple as he spearheaded a new event at Roger Williams University to help support the Jimmy Fund.

During this event, known as "The Cakeoff", teams compete against each other in a cake decorating contest as they help promote cancer awareness and raise funds for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

Players have had so much fun helping to raise money for the cause, that they have continued to participate in the event.

The Jimmy Fund

More than one million people are diagnosed with cancer each year.

Through money raised by the Jimmy Fund organization, researchers and clinicians have worked hard to help doctors detect cancer earlier in patients and have developed therapies to help prevent and treat the disease.

As a reuslt of efforts like theirs, nearly 80% of children and more than 60% of adults with cancer are surviving.
